Milwaukee's Reckless Injury Defense Lawyers
Reckless injury, is described in section 940.23 of the Wisconsin Statutes.

Section 940.23(1) of the Wisconsin Statutes prohibits first-degree reckless injury. A few circumstances of this crime are as follows:
- Whoever recklessly causes great bodily harm to another human being under circumstances which show utter disregard for human life is guilty of a Class D felony.
- Whoever recklessly causes great bodily harm to an unborn child under circumstances that show utter disregard for the life of that unborn child, the woman who is pregnant with that unborn child or another is guilty of a Class D felony.
Second-degree reckless injury
Section 940.23(2) of the Wisconsin Statutes also prohibits second-degree reckless injury. Circumstances are as follows:
- Whoever recklessly causes great bodily harm to another human being is guilty of a Class F felony.
- Whoever recklessly causes great bodily harm to an unborn child is guilty of a Class F felony.

- The defendant caused great bodily harm to the victim; and
- The defendant caused great bodily harm by criminally reckless conduct; and
- The circumstances of the defendant’s conduct showed utter disregard for human life.
The elements of second degree reckless injury are described as:
- The defendant caused great bodily harm to the victim; and
- The defendant caused great bodily harm by criminally reckless conduct.
